Personality and Style Elevate a Lakewood Estate

Our client of many years struggled to decide whether to move, rebuild on her lot in the Lakewood area she loved or completely remodel her existing home. She decided on a total remodel to freshen her home and bring her personality to life in it. Although it is a total transformation, we kept most of the original structure of her 1930s home intact maintaining the charm of the house’s flow.
Having known our client for many years, we knew her personality which gave us inspiration for the remodel. She is glamorous, yet at the same time edgy and now her personal style and character is reflected in every piece of furniture, lighting, fixtures, tile, paint, flooring and art we chose.

The only structure change expanded the foyer, something the home owner’s late husband had always wanted to do. The stairway was redesigned to open the foyer for a grander entry. The formal living room, one of the first rooms seen when stepping into the home, is elegant and inviting with grey tones and plush furniture.

Natural light floods the kitchen with a new expanded window frame that allows ample rays in to brighten the space. The mosaic glass tile extends to the ceiling.

Throughout the home, we added a bit of modernity and femininity by mixing softer tones with a pop of turquoise. This bright room is cozy, comfortable and inviting for a casual evening at home by the fire.

With the guest bedroom we were able to add pops of color throughout the room with bedding, drapery and furnishings. The gold accents add a touch of glamour. The framed “Vogue” covers pay homage to the homeowner’s great sense of style. Her guests will never want to leave this enchanting room.
We were able to keep the integrity of the home by remodeling rather than tearing down and rebuilding the home. The home had great bones and we loved designing everything from the studs up.
